Job Summary:

SAVA is looking to fill critical Information Technology based positions for our customer with the United States Army at the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) located in Aberdeen, MD (APG). The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: outstanding customer service, expertise/knowledge in the required field, dedication to the mission and strong work ethic. SAVA is in search of a burgeoning IT professional to join the SAVA family as a Cyber Technical Specialist III on our ATEC IT Support team.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for assigned systems/networks, including:

  • Evaluating technical risks

  • Assisting in development of the System Security Plan

  • Coordinating with System Owners and internal and external stakeholders

  • Providing information to the Change Control Board and/or ISSM regarding change requests

  • Re-evaluation of security postures and risk profiles

  • Entering/updating artifacts into eMASS

  • Apply/implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

  • Use cybersecurity/IT tools such as ACAS, HBSS/ESS, and eMASS

  • Perform security scanning, assess results and recommend mitigation.

  • Perform technical assessment of IT security controls and devices for networks, applications and systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance is required

  • Must possess an active DOD 8570.01-M certifications compliant certification meeting the requirements either the IAT Level II or the IAM Level I.

  • Relevant education/experience must be in an IT discipline with specific experience in cybersecurity and/or information assurance:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience with a Bachelors degree, or

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Experience with IT Audit, IT compliance, enterprise risk management.

  • Experience with creating/updating/implementing policy.

  • Experience supporting Risk Management Frameworks and Assess & Authorize processes, including assessment of controls, familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, POA&M, and implementation plans

  • Experience using tools such as ACAS, HBSS/ESS, eMASS in order to perform security scanning, hardening devices, evaluating technical risks scanning.

  • Understanding of how changes in system configuration and/or network architecture affect a systems security posture and risk profile.

  • Experience in technical assessment of IT security controls and devices for networks, applications, and systems.

  • Experience in providing security related technical guidance and applying/implementing DISA STIGs.

  • Experience in evaluating technical risks associated with applying configuration changes to systems/networks.

  • Ability to re-evaluate security postures and risk profiles at network environment level.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of systems and networking.

  • Experience with technical writing.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, though not required.
