The Accounting TechnicianIntern will support the NMS Accounting/Finance team as well as the CampsServices Division with general accounting responsibilities. This position is a support services positionwhose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures. It generally functions under closesupervisory direction or guidance of the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
TheNMS NANA Shareholder College Internships available will be 40 hours per week,will be a six (6) to eight (8) week internship and is expected to start inJune, internships may be extended or shortened based on availability of work.Lodging and transportation are not provided, the intern will be expected tocover these expenses as the apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data entry – AP invoices into DeltekCostpoint 7.
Using Excel, reconcile statements to NMSrecords in Costpoint.
Review and process invoices in Esker APautomation system.
File requests – finding, scanning,sending requested invoices out.
Learn direct billings for selectedunits, ensure outstanding balance is properly reconciled using Excel.
Learn downloads/uploads to and fromExcel/Costpoint.
Learn DSA’s (Daily Sales) – AccountsReceivable.
Learn how Payroll functions – deadlines,uploads.
Learn how AR checks are entered intoCostPoint 7.
Spend time with the Accountants andlearn weekly processes and how the numbers flow through to the financialstatements.
The ability to maintain confidentialityat all times while displaying a professional disposition.
Demonstrated ability to complete work ina timely and accurate manner.
Assist with implementing timecloks attwo camp sites, developing reference material and training employees onprocedures.
Assist with customer service trainingand development, converting training material in to PowerPoints for ease ofdelivery for management staff.
This position has no supervisoryresponsibilities.
Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Currently enrolled in college or is arecent graduate.
Must be at least 18 years’ old.
Must be able to provide legaldocumentation for your eligibility to work in the US.
The ability to travel which will requireworking 12 hours at a time. Assignments serve to offer practical experience andbroad exposure to NMS’ organizational structure. Specific activities vary byassignment.

Physicalrequirements: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Travel: Employeemay travel up to 25% to Red Dog, North Slope or other remote locations and maybe required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but notlimited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs. Travel is coordinated by NMS.
