Maintenance Foreman (Base Operations)
ASO provides logistics, facilities maintenance and operations, transportation and support services for mission-critical military installations and civilian agencies around the country. From the homes of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command to the highways of suburban Virginia, ASO experts and professionals work behind the scenes to ensure smooth and continuous operations.
Reports to the Maintenance Manager. Supervises the maintenance and shop operations of Garrison owned and operated equipment for DES (Fire/Police) and DPTMS (Range Control) areas of operation. Performs general support efforts of intermediate maintenance in support of Non-Tactical wheeled vehicles and General Support equipment. Equipment includes Construction such as Graders, Dozers, Front Loaders, Dump trucks and Snow plows, Tractors, Lawn mowing machines, Fire Trucks, Civilian pick-ups/service trucks, and other support equipment assigned. Able to develop Performance Standards, Process and procedures. Work Instructions, and SOP’s. Counsel employees on performance and makes formal and informal appraisals.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Ensures established policies and procedures are effectively enforced. Controls shop maintenance to ensure maximum utilization of personnel assigned. Maintains the highest quality of workmanship equal to or exceeding Army standards.
Maintains control over requirements for parts and materials, utilizes and enforces supply economy and controls usage and care of Government parts, tools, and equipment.
Provides, reports applicable to the maintenance operations in the form of daily, periodic, or special reports. Exercises control over preparation of required shop equipment, forms and records. Submission of exception time accounting and maintenance dates.
Attends weekly maintenance meetings with the government and customers to brief equipment readiness and priorities.
Provides status of unit job orders to the Maintenance Manager, and Govt. counterparts. Advises on direct support/general support procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Provides technical assistance pertaining to operations, modification and maintenance equipment. Plans and expedites equipment through the repair shops.
Maintains surveillance over the operation to detect areas of injury potential, unsafe acts or conditions and takes immediate action to correct unsatisfactory situations.
Acquires data from the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) to create maintenance plans, related maintenance tasks, and other required data. Experience working with Microsoft office.
Performs other duties as required.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Automation tools; material handling equipment; test & diagnostic tools, computer use to include operation of Microsoft excel and word programs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
FREEDOM TO ACT : Reports to the Maintenance Manager
Education: Two year degree or equivalent work experience. Formal military or
civilian training in equipment maintenance procedures.
Experience: Five years, experience in equipment maintenance and supply or
equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least three
years supervisory responsibilities.
Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to start date or by 30 days after employment.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be US Citizen to obtain and maintain a
Clearance and must receive favorable background
and drug testing results.
