TheInformation Assurance Network Specialistis a member of a multi-functional team supporting G-6 Cyber Security Division headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Operational and functional tasks include:analysis of network and system information assurance posture in support of system certification and accreditation; developing of strategic planning for system compliance; creating documentation to support certification compliance using the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF); applying knowledge of Information Security policies and procedures to process and protect DoD classified information; applying knowledge of policies, regulations and Executive Orders in the marking, handling, and dissemination of classified material and information.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining operational security posture for an information system(s) or program(s) to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed

  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information

  • Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation

  • Manage changes to system(s) and assess the security impact of those changes

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (A&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Current TS/SCI clearance

  • CompTIA Security Certification

  • Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Experience recommending and implementing improvements for increased effectiveness

  • 1-3 years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) or Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMass)
