Job Summary:

The Transportation Movements Branch Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating transportation operations within a specific branch for a U.S. Army contract. This position involves managing the movement of personnel, supplies, and equipment, ensuring compliance with military regulations and optimizing logistical processes. The Supervisor will lead a team, liaise with various stakeholders, and contribute to the success of military transportation missions.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:

  • Leads, mentors, and motivates a team of transportation personnel.

  • Provides guidance and training to ensure a high level of competence within the branch.

  • Fosters a culture of accountability, discipline, and teamwork.

  • Transportation Planning and Coordination:

  • Plans and coordinates the movement of personnel, supplies, and equipment in accordance with mission requirements.

  • Optimizes transportation routes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery.

  • Liaises with other branches and units to coordinate seamless transportation operations.

  • Compliance and Regulation:

  • Ensures strict adherence to U.S. Army transportation regulations and guidelines.

  • Monitors and enforces compliance with safety standards and protocols.

  • Stays updated on changes in military transportation regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

  • Resource Allocation:

  • Efficiently allocates resources, including vehicles and personnel, to meet mission objectives.

  • Collaborates with logistics and procurement teams to ensure the availability of required resources.

  • Manages and tracks transportation assets effectively.

  • Emergency Response and Contingency Planning:

  • Develops and implements contingency plans for transportation operations during emergencies.

  • Ensures the branch is prepared to respond rapidly to unforeseen situations.

  • Coordinates with relevant authorities and units in emergency scenarios.

  • Communication and Reporting:

  • Communicates effectively with higher command, subordinates, and other branches.

  • Provides timely and accurate reports on transportation activities, including mission status and challenges.

  • Liaises with command and control centers to relay critical information.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Implements quality control measures for transportation processes.

  • Conducts regular inspections to verify compliance with established procedures.

  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance Managers to uphold transportation quality standards.

  • Budget Management:

  • Assists in budget planning and monitoring for the transportation branch.

  • Optimizes budget allocation to meet operational requirements.

  • Identifies cost-saving opportunities without compromising mission success.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in military transportation operations, with a background in leadership roles.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Army transportation regulations and procedures.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in dynamic environments.

  • Familiarity with safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards.

  • Experience with transportation planning tools and systems.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field.

Pay and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $85,000 – The salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, work experience, and their ability to meet the known requirements of the position as determined at the time of hire. Job location will also be a factor in determining the salary offered.
