Summary

This In-Flight Supervisorposition assists the General Manager in the direction and coordination of theactivities and personnel at a major NMS unit to obtain optimum efficiency andeconomy of operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps the General Manageradminister, supervise, and direct ongoing business activity.

  • Helps maintain good customer/clientcommunications that enable efficient problem resolution and acceptance of newservices or programs.

  • Supports a comprehensivesafety program.

  • Performs generaladministrative/office tasks ensuring compliance of assignedresponsibilities/activities with all internal and external regulations as wellas sound business practices.

  • Creates, monitors, and reviewsa variety of such business reports as sales reports, inventory reports, budgetreports, etc.

  • Handles a wide variety ofemployee related matters such as general employment issues, paperwork, PAN’s,etc.

  • Assist in identifyingeffective solutions to business problems.

  • Analyze and resolve workproblems or assist employees in solving work problems.

  • Ensures that theresponsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all assigned employees aredefined and understood.

  • Monitors and delivers avariety of staff training activities to improve efficiency and ensureconformance with standard procedures and practices.

  • Makes sure all assignedequipment is maintained in compliance with service standards.

  • Consistently demonstratesprofessional skills in assigned area’s activities, all forms of communications,implementing operational efficiencies, the handling of changes, makingdecisions, and solving problems.

  • Fills in for assignedsupervisor and other employees as required in the assigned operation.

  • Is responsible for theiroverall direction, coordination, and evaluation.

  • Responsibilities includeinterviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, anddirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems.

  • May operate a vehicle to workat various locations.

  • May periodically perform avariety of special duties such as certain types of laundry duties orperiodically scheduled cleaning tasks.

  • May transport passengersrequiring wheelchair assistance within the terminal and aircraft.

  • Assist wheelchair passengerswith their carry-on bags, assisted devices and checked luggage.

  • Working in and aroundaircrafts and be able to follow cleaning and security protocol that will bediscussed and properly trained prior to work.

  • This position has supervisoryresponsibilities.

  • Other duties that arepertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduation plussome post-secondary training in field related field.

  • Preference will be given tothose with two (2) years related training in a college, vocational, ortechnical school.

  • Must Obtain GSC Certificationwithin 6 months of hire.

  • Ability to drive a forkliftand train staff accordingly on safety procedures

  • The ability to operate officeequipment and general business software programs.

  • A thorough knowledge ofmanaging, planning and organizing the type of activities in assigned area withthe ability to address the technical matters involved.

  • Must be able to review andwork with general business reports, sales reports, budget reports, salesanalysis, etc.

  • A suitability and capacity fora position of authority.

  • The ability to work towardaccomplishing objectives with a sense of urgency.

  • The ability to workeffectively with a minimum of supervision or support.

  • The ability to support honestand fair treatment of employees and customers.

  • The ability to effectivelycommunicate performance expectations to employees.

  • The ability to balancemultiple activities with an attention to detail.

  • The recognition that serviceis a demonstrated attitude and a state of mind, not a task or step.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.

Noise level: Moderate to Loud

Descriptionof environment: This is an airport setting.

Physical requirements: The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10pounds, frequently pull/push cart and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, theassociate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, orfeel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear, pull/push carts, twist. Theassociate is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The associate isoccasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particlesand may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.Specificvision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision,color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
