Job Description

The Shareholder Relations Intern will provide special project assistance and administrative support to the Shareholder Relations department.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a special project for the department, which is creating a keyboard map for Iñupiaq characters for use on NRC computers (Windows).

  • Collaborate with experts on Unicode text, mapping keyboards and providing this capability to computers on Windows operating system at NANA.

  • Create instructions on installation and use of keyboard.

  • Maintain and organize files and documents to track progress and information gathered.

  • Scan, copy or print documents for special projects, documenting purposes or records needs.

  • May also make outgoing calls, as needed, to support project.

  • May prepare presentations or draft and prepare documents.

  • May help coordinate or support meeting activities or events for intern program.

  • Provide administrative support for the department, as needed.

  • Operate in a climate of confidentiality requiring discretion.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be a NANA shareholder. NANA shareholders own stock in NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.

  • Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college or vocational school.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Beginning coding/programming experience or knowledge

  • Have great interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Be organized.

  • Have good administrative skills.

  • Have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Be customer service oriented.

  • Maintains confidentiality.

  • Must maintain a high degree of accuracy.

  • Must have high attention to detail.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving, interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.
