NANA Regional Corporation Temporary Hotel Laborer- Nullagvik in Kotzebue, Alaska

Job Description

Gear up for a fast-paced and rewarding seasonal role! Under the supervision of the General and/or Operations Manager. As our Seasonal Hotel Laborer, you'll be responsible for efficiently replacing mattresses in vacant or occupied rooms. This physically demanding position requires teamwork, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.

Temporary employee must be available for 4 to 6 weeks and the duration of the temporary assignment will be dependent on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport mattresses from Conex to designated storage areas or directly to guest rooms (depending on delivery schedule).

  • Safely and efficiently remove old mattresses from guest rooms to storage area.

  • Remove mattress protector from old mattress.

  • Properly position and install new mattresses.

  • Remove plastic protection from new mattress.

  • Put mattress protector on new mattress

  • Remake bed according to hotel specifications.

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in guest rooms during mattress replacement, minimizing disruption to hotel guests.

  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping staff and other hotel departments, to ensure smooth completion of mattress changes and deliveries.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with guests during mattress replacement and potential deliveries.

  • Understand importance of proper lifting techniques, especially when dealing with heavy mattresses and maneuvering them around furniture

  • Watch oil burn barrel(s) to ensure safety of burn.

  • May be required to paint stairwells.

  • May be required to help Maintenance with a variety of tasks.

  • other duities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience with manual labor is a plus.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (mattresses) safely and efficiently.

  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible and available to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors and Outdoors, frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Noise level: Moderate

Description of environment: Environment will vary based on the facility assigned to.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, and carry weight/lift.
