Sr. Program Analyst

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but not be limited

As Tester – reports to and takes direction from Lead Tester

  • responsible for assisting with application testing

  • assist in ensuring web application (NMCMPS) is bug free in addition to recognizing of potential security threats

As Trainer/Instructor – reports to and takes direction from Lead Trainer

  • responsible to provide training to uniformed and civilian personnel

  • also provides on-site hands-on training

  • Strong client-facing and communication skills

As Help Desk capacity - reports to and takes direction from Lead Program Analyst

  • Provide first level contact with customer issues

  • Walk customers through problem solving process

  • triages/assists documenting/tracking trouble tickets submitted

  • responsible for triaging, reporting, analyzing and interpreting customer needs

Assists with translating technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.

Under supervision of Lead Technical Writer , assists above in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of end-user documentation, including:

  • User Manuals

  • Instructional/Training Materials

  • Technical Manuals

  • Installation Guides

  • Online help

  • infrastructure documentation such as System Specifications

  • other technical documentation, reports and deliverables as neededabove in support of local and remote/on-site and off-site:

  • U.S. Navy uniformed and civilian personnel

  • Program Analysts

  • Lead Trainer(s)

  • Lead Tester(s)

  • Application Developers/programmers

  • Quality Assurance and Technical Support staff

Under supervision of Lead Technical Writer , assists above in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of end-user documentation, including:

  • Reviewing and updating existing documentation

  • Functional descriptions

  • System specifications

  • User manuals

  • Special reports, or any other deliverables

  • Participates in/assists with gathering business, functional and design requirements

  • Supports on and off-site (remote) testing

  • Conducts research by interviewing subject matter experts (SME’S) gleaning information for/from supported system being documented.

  • Develops an understanding of requirements for features being documented, tailored to the target audience.

  • Creates graphics and/or reports which aid or assist the target audience in better understanding the documented material and ultimately the system.

  • Ensures required documentation is delivered according to specified guidelines.

  • Proofreads all correspondence and documentation for accuracy, correcting as necessary.

  • Works with technical SME’s to improve documentation quality and usability.

  • Assists maintaining internal documentation library using Sharepoint.

  • provides and/or coordinates special projects as assigned

  • Assists tracking trouble-tickets through to completion, including client signoff, production and archival.


Job Specifications:

  • Requires ability to clearly communicate with the customer and greater development team.

  • Must be proficient in Windows 7 or higher operating system.

  • Security certification required

  • Experience with proofreading documents

  • Experience with Sharepoint is desired

  • Experience with creating reports

  • Office 365 Suite and Sharepoint experience helpful.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have a Secret Clearance
