TheRemote Camp Maintenance Lead Technician assists the Supervisor in on-sitesupervisory services for the repair, maintenance and alternations of lightindustrial oil field support facilities and equipment. Supervises, as delegated, the activities ofworkers engaged in maintaining and repairing mechanical, physical, andelectrical elements of structures as well as equipment and appliance repair.Fills in for the Facility Supervisor in their absence. All duties are to be performed in accordancewith NMS’ mission, vision, and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prioritizesand schedules work for maintenance crew.
Meetswith crew to go over work assignments, work orders, preventive maintenanceduties, to make sure all required resources are on hand and all work iscoordinated with internal and external activities and requirements.
Supportsan effective and active safety program.
Assureswork is performed safely, to code and to required quality control levelsaccording to Control of Work BP guidelines.
Resolveany disruptions or problems in workflow or activities.
Completes safety walkthrough checklists of various areas.
Responsibilities,as delegated by supervision, include planning, assigning and directing work;appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplaints and resolving problems.
Attendsdaily safety tool box meetings and is required to do job safety evaluations foreach job.
Notifysupervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
Thisposition is responsible for their trade work and supervision of staff directedby supervisor.
Otherduties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may beassigned.
At least five (5) years’ experience of related trade or craft experience which includes craft supervisory responsibilities.
Must have a working knowledge of oil field related remote camp life support systems.
A valid driver’s license andan acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible underNMS’ vehicle insurance policy.
Must have a current type I,II, and III Universal Refrigeration Certification.
Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Weather:Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed toarctic conditions.
Noiselevel: Moderate to Loud
Descriptionof environment: This is a remote camp setting.Employees must constantlybe able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel andcrouch. Employees are occasionallyexposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or causticchemicals.
Travel: Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus toremote camps.
Physicalrequirements: Fit For Duty Test
Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to knuckle x2
Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to waist x 2
Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to shoulders x 2
Push: push horizontallywith a peak force of 75 f-lbs. with two hands.
Stoop & Twist: Performalternate cross over toe touches x 10 each side, self-paced but continuous.
Squat Test: Functionallysquat x 5, self-paced but continuous.
Kneel: Kneel on one kneeand stand. Return to kneel on oppositeknee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequencex 10 for each knee, self-pace but continuous.
Stairs: Climb up and down12 steps x 5 for a total of 60 steps using one hand to grasp a railing forsafety, self-paced:
Allow 30 second rest after climbing up and down each set of 30steps, self-paced.
Stairs & Carry: Climbup and down 12 steps x 2 for a total of 24 steps while carrying 40 lbs. in onehand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced.
Allow a 30 second rest period after climbing up and down 12 stepswhile carrying.
Slanted Ladder: Climb aslanted ladder with 8 rungs x 8 repetitions for a total of 64 rungs, self-pacedbut continuous.
Shovel: Perform shoveltest.
All tests must be performed within a safe target heart rate asdetermined by the contract requirements.
