NANA Regional Corporation Scaffold Builder - North Slope, AK - Rotational in North Slope/Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

Job Description

Responsible for erecting, disassembling, moving, repairing, maintaining, and daily pre work inspections on scaffolding components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Erecting, dismantling, modifying, and repairing scaffolding.

  • Carry scaffolding components from staging area to erection location.

  • Climb scaffolds and work at heights while adhering to company procedures and protocol while working at heights 100% tie off.

  • Determine the maximum intended load carrying capacity of the type of scaffolding being used.

  • Use hand and power tools safely and correctly.

  • Identify all hazards associated with erecting, dismantling, and modifying scaffolding such as electrical hazards and required working distances from electrical power lines and electrical cabling.

  • Determine safe mitigations for dropped objects, and falling from heights.

  • Able to properly assemble fall restraint and fall protection systems adhering to OSHA and MSHA’s policy’s and procedures.

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required or ten (10) years Scaffold Builder experience will be considered.

  • Minimum three (3) years scaffold building experience.

  • Current Competent Scaffold Erector Card/Certificate.

  • Must have experience with different types of scaffolding components including but not limited to: Tube and block scaffolding, Safway systems scaffolding, Wedge scaffolding, and Suspended scaffolding.

  • Must bring own basic hand tools to job site. List of required hand tools to be provided by NANA Construction at the time of hire.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear, and is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Steel toed boots are required on the job.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
