The Electronics Technician II is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) member of a multi-functional team providing Department of Technical Support Services to the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center Logistic Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The Electronics Technician II’s technical, operational, and functional tasks spectrum includes providing electronics technician services to the various FAALC Group/Product Divisions to help assure that electronic systems, subsystems, and components meet serviceability, reliability, and availability requirement including electronic system/subsystem/component troubleshooting, repair, assembly, refurbishment, installation, calibration, and testing; test fixture and prototype design, analysis of equipment performance, data collection and equipment installation in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.
Standard individual administrative tasks including individual time, timesheet, leave, and training completion; performance management; compliance with customer organization and company standards; performing other tasks as assigned and demonstrating proficiency, accuracy and attention to detail in assigned duties.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Works under the functional/operational supervision of the Shop Lead and/or Technical Manager/Project Manager.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and tests electronic components and equipment so as to return unserviceable equipment to serviceable status. Items to be repaired may include electronic assemblies and components, electronic cables and wiring harnesses, circuit cards, prototype, test fixtures and test beds. The repair process may include functions such as item disassembly/assembly, circuit analysis, item repair, and parts replacement with possible performance analysis.
After repair, completes applicable calibration, testing, and certification processes performing and documenting tasks and functions as specified in the technical documentation applicable to the equipment.
Assembles cables, wiring harnesses, circuit cards, and other electronic assemblies and components based on FAALC-provided technical documentation; installs and performs test and calibration functions for this equipment.
Installs electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, modifications and engineering prototypes; performs adjustment, test, and certification functions for this equipment.
Education and Years of Experience.
Completion of formal technical training courses or Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
Minimum 2 years of experience of practical experience in electronics technician support position including troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical, electronic systems and equipment experience; developing, reviewing, and updating engineering documentation and processes utilizing necessary soldering, tool and test equipment usage.
High level of problem solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-up and/or operations for complex systems.
Detail-oriented and possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to provide incident and after action reports and analysis.
Excellent customer service skills and professional presence. Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to read, speak and effectively communicate in the English language.
