Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.

  • Organizes and assists the work of warehouse and project personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.

  • Prepares Field Materials Requests and inventory of supplies.

  • Implements and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.

  • Prepares, reviews and issues OS&D reports, inspects materials upon arrival.

  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

  • Oversees activities related to procurement and materials management.

  • Assists General Foreman and onsite personnel on materials needs, staging, and requirements.

  • Input data into excel or other inventory programs

  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.

  • Keep laydown and staging areas organized, well delineated, and proper signage.

  • Coordinate with Client and other contractors onsite.

  • Able to operate minimal equipment; rough terrain forklift, or skid steer

  • This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Minimum five (5) years experience as a Materials Handler or Coordinator required.

  • Must know all discipline required materials; electrical, structural, pipe, mechanical, insulation, and painting

  • Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. Steel toed boots required on the job.
