Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Painters/Sign Painters/Insulators organization. Selected candidate will direct and mentor subordinate Supervisor/Field Work Supervisor, painters, sign painters, and insulators. Responsibilities include management and oversight of all staff to ensure compliance with procedures, processes, and work packages to safely and efficiently accomplish work. The position requires the ability to manage significant risk associated with the completion of complex and hazardous tasks.
Ensuring that all work is performed in a manner that reflects the highest commitment to safety, process improvements, and environmental excellence in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Manage resources as necessary to meet work priorities.
Interact with operations, engineering, environmental, and safety organizations within MSA and OHC at all levels.
Work directly with bargaining unit personnel to maintain safe operations.
Ensure all work is assigned to fully qualified and trained personnel.
Proactively and effectively manage all personnel actions for assigned staff.
Responsible for maintaining a 24/7 availability of personnel to respond to critical infrastructure needs of the Hanford Site.
Work overtime as needed to support off-shift work requests.
Obtain Field Work Supervisor qualification for the direction and oversight of bargaining unit personnel.
Obtain qualification as a Certified Asbestos Supervisor and Inspector.
Order materials and manage waste disposal processes for the organization.
BA/BS degree in a related field, plus 10 years of experience working with bargaining unit craft, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of maintenance management programs, Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), and Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
Previous work experience at the Hanford Site desired.
