Akima AOC Training Improvement Support in Shaw AFB, South Carolina
Our AOC Training Improvement Support position provide cross flow of training support and information exchange between Air Operations Center (AOC) units and Higher Headquarters. This position is located at the 609 AOC, Shaw AFB, SC. If you are interested and qualify, we invite you to apply!
Responsibilities
Write the implementing documents for (Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) events, monitor their execution, and provide analysis on execution.
Define hardware requirements and configurations for (Air Operations Center (AOC) exercises both at home and deployed.
Assist in daily scheduling of personnel for attendance at AOC Mission Qualification Training (MQT) and CT.
Assist with or lead post exercise review sessions. Document, maintain and track After Action items until they are resolved.
When directed, provide expertise for training, experiment, or test events as designated by Air Combat Command (ACC) or Central Command (CENTCOM).
Provide support to forward operating locations in the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Provide AOC Weapon System Configuration Management (CM) support. Assist with the development of CM plans, programs, and management.
Assist in planning and executing training exercises of like units.
Support control cell operations during monthly exercises as augmentee, reviewer and evaluator.
Evaluate exercise and training systems during AOC weapons system test events and provide recommendations on how these new AOC systems can be utilized in training.
Participate in a monthly formalized information exchange program with like AOC units sharing information such as lessons learned, best practices, training shortfalls and exercise training effectiveness via Defense Connect Online (DCO).
Support Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) as required, to units to improve training and exercise program management.
Participate in the exploration, research, development and testing of new training technologies affecting the AOC weapon system as requested by higher headquarters.
Provide support and expertise in development and management of AOC requirements process and products. Participate in monthly Requirements Working Group (RWG), Engineering Working Group (EWG), and other requirements related forums.
Provide daily unit Tactical Data Link Management, operations and training support.
Remain current on AOC weapon system capabilities and training issues concerning interoperability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or five (5) years of experience with the Air Operations Center (AOC) or Theater Air Control System (TACS) is mandatory.
Must possess three (3) years of experience at the USAFCENT, NAF or other service equivalent headquarters level.
Must be skilled in the use of software/hardware/e-mail systems (Microsoft Office) currently in use by USAFCENT.
Must be familiar with the AOC Weapon System and AOC operational training requirements and have at least five years of experience in an AOC or TACS.
Must be capable of working independently and must be able to review current and future training and exercise plans, AF instructions, and joint publications with the purpose of making recommendations on improving them as well as incorporating them into unit training programs.
Minimum active Secret clearance and able to obtain Top Secret with SCI.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
