PRIMARY FUNCTION

A Laborer is responsible for supporting a variety of general tasking.Laborers perform mainly physical labor including loading, unloading, lifting and moving supplies and materials.This position performs such duties as a fire watch, cable puller, an electrician’s helper. Laborers may also assist in thefabrication, assembly,and installation of equipment.Laborers complete simple routine tasks under close supervision from lead type personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Moving and un-crating of equipment.

  • Moves supplies and materials to proper location by hand or hand trucks.

  • Loads and unloads trucks.

  • Installation of electronic equipment, banding cableways, pulling cables, lagging.

  • Travel to job sites as required by the PM and IAW the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR).

  • Use of power tools.

  • Paints small areas as needed.

  • Sweeps and cleans up behind technicians.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

· Position requires High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

· Must be a US citizen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Applicants also must be willing to work more than 40 hour work weeks.

· Ability to work in a shipboard industrial environment.

· Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 pounds).

· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
