The Director of Operations directs, administers, and coordinates the activities in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives set by the company General Manager (GM). Recommends to the GM the development of company policies and goals that cover the company's operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth. With the GM, responsible for the implementation and management of activities in support of these policies and goals.

This position must work out of the Tampa, FL office location.

Responsibilities:

This strategic position supports the GM in internal and external business matters. Candidate must have business development, capture, proposal, award, post award, profit & loss, and full business life cycle experience. Responsible for request for information responses, production of proposal artifacts, and price to win analysis.Directs the preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based on MSET Group goals and growth objectives. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine company progress toward stated goals and objectives. Oversees Program and Project Managers and manages direct department activities that implement the organization's policies. Directs company operations to achieve budgeted profit results and other financial bench-marking standards. Directs the development and installation of company procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow. Develops and establishes company operating policies consistent with the GM’s broad policies and objectives and ensures their execution. Appraises and evaluates the overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the GM. Ensures sound services and working relationships with key staff or important vendors/partners, with internal and external services such as consultants, corporate legal counsel, marketing, finance, and with outside public and governmental bodies. Ensures that all company activities and operations are carried out in compliance with Akima corporate guidelines as well as regulations and laws governing business operations.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of operations experience in a leadership capacity.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience with DoD contracts, specifically with US Army, Combatant Commands

Education:

  • Bachelors with 5 years Operations experience and 15 years’ experience with DoD and Federal Contracts, or 30 years’ direct experience with DoD and Federal Contracts in Engineering, Program Management, Business Development, P&L Management, and Operations Management

Locat ion:

  • Tampa, FL (Required)

Required travel:

  • Up to 50% travel is required, both CONUS and OCONUS

Clearance required:

  • Must have current Secret or above clearance.
