Interior Designer, Level II - Remote


Cazador is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Interior Designer to provide both healthcare and commercial design services to federal and military clients for the development and procurement of FF&E packages.Duties include but are not limited to: end-user programming, site/inventory verifications of existing product, space planning, finish selection and color boards, furniture and equipment installation drawings, data entry, specifications and pricing, government required submittal preparation and extensive project documentation.Must be able to effectively delegate and manage multiple tasks with team of Cazador designers, sub-contractors and vendor partners.Works closely with Junior Interior Designers, Project Managers, Medical Equipment Planners, medical casework and furniture vendors and manufacturers, internal order entry, Transition Planners and installation groups, as well as clients, to ensure accurate plans and specifications conform to client requirements, satisfaction and budget resulting in high quality project implementation.Incumbent manages all aspects of design specifications including space planning and design.Programs and evaluates client’s needs for space, furniture, room decor and finishes. Space plans, specifies and assists with procurement of designs.


Working closely with Design Staff

  • Space planning of healthcare and other varying facilities

  • Construction drawing development of multiple projects for submittals

  • Work with sub-contractors and vendor partners to reflect items provided by outside sources

  • Clarify furniture and material/finish specifications

  • Use specifications to create cut sheets to convey product selections to clients

  • Obtain quotes for specified items

  • Confirm and monitor item lead times of furniture and finishes

  • Manage, revise and update datareflecting location of specified furnishings

  • Development of artwork packages

  • Prepare installation drawings

  • Create color boards/binders reflecting item and finish selections for submittals

  • Create and manage customer directed close-out documents

  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field required

  • 5 years of related job experience required

  • Furniture Dealership experience required

  • Revit-AutoCAD-20/20 proficiency required

  • NCIDQ Certification required

  • Healthcare planning preferred, but not required

  • Prior project experience with DoD, military or government a plus

  • Self-Starter with high attention to detail

  • Proven ability to effectively manage time and schedules, to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills with a dedication to client service.

  • Excellent customer service skills; motivated to help our clients

  • Must pass standard security background check.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Familiarity with Adobe products, i.e. PDF’s, Photoshop, Bluebeam, etc.

  • Knowledge of DoD/government furniture guidelines and standards

  • Familiarity with Form 1691/SEPS programming information and application

  • SharePoint and Microsoft Access knowledge a plus
