Individual will be responsible for issuing military license, performing road test and other duties associated with a driver examiner. This position will report to the transportation manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Issue the Da Form 5983e, U.S. Government Vehicle, Operator’s Identification Card (Military License) to military, DOD civilians and Akima contractor personnel at West Point in accordance with applicable regulations and directives.

  • Provide material and technical assistance and give instruction and guidance on the training and testing of West Point personnel as directed by the COR and ASO.

  • Submit various reports and Maintain secure files of license holder information such as DA Form 348, Master Driver Appointment Memorandums, test records, Driver’s License Requirements Training Sheet and SF91.

  • Operate and perform road tests on the vehicles listed below in experience and qualifications.

  • Process, maintain, provide oversight on and give guidance on the preparation of the Government Accident Reports and Witness Statements (SF 91 and 94) and supporting documentation.

  • Reconcile the SF 91 with the damage reported by comparing it to the damage on the vehicle.

  • Sit, walk and occasionally climb stairs, stoop, kneel and crouch during the performance of vehicle inspecting.

  • When required, provide a 2 hour block of classroom training on operator responsibility, safety, dispatching, accident reporting.

  • Dispatch the Post Taxi using the TransLoc OnDemand computerized system or by hand held radio and scratchpad.

  • Handle and maintain restricted and confidential information in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License, Class “A” with a “P” & “W” Endorsements.

  • Maintain a valid Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Applicant must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Be qualified and be able to safely operate all TMP road vehicles below:

  • Tractor with trailer,

  • Motor-Coach, Shuttle Bus, Airporter, Box Truck, 15 Passenger and Mini-vans, Sedans.

  • LMTV with Plow, salt/sand spreader attachment and Water Trailer,

  • HMMWV with plow,

  • TracLess Street Sweeper and Snow Blower

  • Have experience on the Driver Examiner portion of GCSS Army Computer System.

  • Be able to understand, read, write and speak fluent English.

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions.

  • Must have a working knowledge of standard computer typing and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Be able to discharge duties in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Safely perform as directed duties given by Management.
